Ugly Betty

So I was watching Ugly Betty today. I'm not exactly huge fan of the show. I saw the premier and I was like "eh" but you know I'd catch it on now and again and I'd think we'll gosh this show has gotten interesting. So this season I've been watching every episode. It's been really great thus far.

Now I know my emotions have been a little too close to the surface lately so it may be nothing but I got really upset with today's episode. Basically Lindsey Lohan plays Betty's High School bully. You know Lohan was like head cheerleader, Miss popular and made poor nerdy Betty's life miserable.

Well now they're all grown up of course and Lohan is working at some fast food restaurant and Bettie's is assistant to the editor and chief of Mode magazine (which is pretty much the equivalent of Vogue in fantasy T.V. land) So a few episodes ago Bettie and Lohan have this big fight and Lohan ends up telling Bettie that she is sorry she's been such a bitch to Betty but she is just jealous of her success at mode and the fact that lohan is stuck in this crappy dead in job etc etc. Betty basically tells her to be the master of her own destiny and get out there and change her life if she isn't happy.

So in today's episode Lohan shows up at Mode and tells Betty that she was so inspired by her that she decided to come down to mode and see if she could get a job. Betty, while seemingly happy that Lohan is trying to make better of her life, is horrified at the thought of having to work with her. She tries to let her down easy by explaining that Mode isn't hring but if they decided to start Lohad would be the first person she called. Well of course in Mid let down Daniel (Betty's Boss) walks up and say to Betty, Gosh you've been so swamped lately why don't we get you a temp? So of course Lohan gets the temp job and end up as Betty's assistant.

At First Betty feels like after all the grief lohan has given her over the years maybe she should just let her fail miserable at Mode to teach her a lesson or at the very least get a little pay back but then she has a change of heart when she remembers how hard things were for her when she first started at Mode and she decides to be the bigger person and show Lohan the ropes.

The whole time you're just waiting for Lohan to stab Betty in the back and they keep eluding to it but then they do a 180 and it seems like maybe lohan really has changed and her and Bettie are quickly becoming the best of friends but by the end of it things are just how you knew they'd be.

Betty freaks out when she thinks lohan is trying to screw her over and inadvertently embarrasses Lohan in front of their co-workers by pantsing her. When Betty realizes that Lohan really wasn't trying to screw her she feels just awful and goes to her boss to asks for a promotion for lohan. Of course as soon as Lohan gets said promotion she really does Drop Betty like a rock leaving you to wonder if that had really been her plan all along.

As I am watching this all play out I found myself getting more and more upset. Like I was literally angry at the producers of the show for letting such an awful thing happen to our dear sweet Bettie Suarez. Before I knew it I found myself all choked up and teary eyed whipping my snot on my sweatshirt in between sobs.

I felt like I'd been warped back in time to Jr. High where girls were so mean it didn't seem human. Sure, in high school I got a thick skin and some amazing friends who would gladly spit in the face of any mean girl that dared to look down on me but in Jr. High I was still sweet as pie. Not a mean bone in my body and no one had my back.

Anyway like I said I've been a little over emotional lately anyway but something about tonight's Ugly Betty just seem to hit home in a way I was expecting.

Idiot

So a perspective student called me today to ask what our requirements were for our students. I told him our students must be 18 years of age or older and have a High School Diploma or GED. He says, well what if I don't have a GED or diploma? And I say, well then you wouldn't be able to attend school here. And he says really? And I say yes. So then he says isn't there a test you can take instead of getting your diploma? And I say, yes it's called a GED.....ugh..idiot.

You have Peter V. to thank for this blog today. My assignment is 15 random facts about me that you may or may not know. I'm pretty much an open book so I'm guessing nothing here will be a surprise but who knows...

1. Much to my husbands disgust I have never in my life mowed a lawn. We always lived in apartments when I was growing up and wait I still live in an apartment so yeah no lawns for me.

2. I nearly died of phenomena when I was 4. My regular doctor was out of town and I kept getting sicker and sicker and the sub doctor kept saying it was just a cold. I eventually collapsed and when my mom took me in to the regular doctor he said she'd gotten me there in the nick of time.

3. I've kissed way more girls than I have boys.

5. On my 18th birthday I pierced my Tongue, nipple and bellybutton all in the same hour. My bellybutton was actually a re-pierce. I had pierced it myself with a safety pin when I was 16 and it had gotten infected so I took it out. The new piercer had to pierce through the scar tissue of my old piercing and the needle got stuck, bent, and hardly made it through to the other side. Needless to say I wont be taking that piercing out ever.

6. I was engaged twice before my husband perposed. I think I've always been in love with the idea of marriage. My parents married very young and hardly knew each other so I think I just always figured the same would happen to me. As a matter of fact it did. Although I have to thank God I didn't end up Marrying either of the two crack heads that purposed before Brian.

7. I move entirely too often. I lived in a Mobile home, a house and three different apartments with my parents in The San Fransisco Bay area. We then moved to Oregon when I was 14 and lived in an apartment for 2 years before my parents finally got the house they live in now. While I was in high school I moved out of my parents and went to live with my friend Amanda then back in when I was 16. Moved back out again when I was 17 to live with My band then back in when I was 18. I then moved in with my boyfriend Tim in ashland for a while then back in with my folks. Then I lived in Colorado for a year. Then I went to Portland for a while then came back and Libby and I got a place in Medford for a while, then I went to Portland again for a while and came back and moved back in with Libby. Then I met Brian and we got our own place in medford and then we moved in a bigger place with Jim and then we moved to Florida for 2 years and then LA for 2 years....gez
8. I hate Ramon.
9. I started playing Clarinet in 4th grade and I was really good but I quit in high school to learn guitar. That and my high school band director was a cunt.
10. I used to steal all the time when I was little. We'd go in Toys R Us and I'd pocket hot wheels left and right. I don't know why. I mean my parents would probably have gotten it for me if I asked. I guess it was a little exciting lol
11. I have a sick thing for Anime porn.
12. I hate it when girls say they don't masturbate. I think it's bullshit and it irritates me.
13. I find it much easier to be friend with guys than it is to be friend with girls but the few close relationships I have with women I think I treasure more than most of my relationships I have with men. Accept of course for my husband and my father.
14. When I was in grade school I hated being tall. Everyone made fun of me. ALL the boys ignored me or just treated me like one of the guys. Now I LOVE it. I like to wear giant heels and walk around towering above everything. It's pretty much fantastic.
15. When I was 16 years old I went camping on the Oregon coast for spring break with some friends. On the way back from the coast I was riding in the back seat of the car on the passenger side when we spun out and rolled down an 85 foot cliff and sank 10 feet under water to the bottom of a river. There were 5 of us in the car and we all managed to get out ok despite the car being full of water. No broken bones just some cuts and bruises. The authorities say it's a miracle none of us were killed.
Consider yourself tagged, if you are so inclined.

Packing tape

So I bought the cutest little packing tape dispenser the world has ever seen today. I can now launch my attack on the house. Yeah, it's packing time. I've got boxes and tape and I say a great deal on bubble wrap at staples if I need it.
In other news my worry for Brian contenues. He needs surgery to remore the lump in his armpit but we're not sure how much it's going to cost. Brian wanted to wait until December when his insurance kicks in to get it done but we don't know if his insurance will cover it or call it a pre-existing condition and tell us to F off. In the mean time Brian's lump is still causing him a great deal of pain. It seems to have gotten worse since they cut a chunk out of it for the biopsy. I'm just not so sure he should wait.
As god is my witness I will never let him go without insurance again. So back to packing. Now that I'm hope and comfy I am finding it difficult to get motivated to pack. I actually need to get ready for my weekend trip up to Oregon. I'm flying this time in fact I'll be flying by myself for the first time ever. I'm not the best flyer either but it's a short flight so I think I can do it. I'm just so excited to see Brian I can hardly stand it.I just can't wait to throw my arms around him. I'll have to remind myself to not squeeze him too hard. :)

Relief

So Yesterday after over a month of fear and confusion and worry we finally received the results from Brian's biopsy. I was sick with fear waiting on pins and needles for Brian's call. When I finally did hear from him I think I immediately called every person I could think of to tell them the good news. If you're reading this blog you've probably already heard from me and know, yes it is a tumor but it's benign aka not cancer. If you'd like more details on exactly what this strange tumor his you'll want to read Brian's blog. http://noshimitsu.blogspot.com/.

The funny thing is after a month of worrying it's kind of hard to stop. I keep catching my mind wandering off to worry land and I have to stop myself and remind myself that he's ok. Of course then off my mind goes again on ridiculously far fetched what if scenarios. I don't know why I can't stop. I guess it will just take a while to let it all sink in. I thnk I'll feel better when he finally has his surgery to get that thing all the way out fo him for good.

To speed up the process of my emotional healing I've decided to fly up to Oregon for the weekend. Well not this weekend. This weekend I have to work but next weekend. I just think I'll feel so much better once I can throw my arms around him and smother him with kisses.

Still no results

All day today I was thinking we'd get the results from Brian's Biopsy at his Doctors appointment today but so no luck. He went in today for them to change his bandages. Apparently they have his wound full of sterile goz (or however you spell that) and they have to keep changing it. It's been just shy of a week since the sugery so I guess we still have a few more days to wait. The suspense is killing me. I threw up twice today. Ok, well I threw up once and dry heaved a bunch later. I wish my stomach wasn't so attached to my emotions. I wish I was one of those people who ate when they were upset. I wish I could just have faith in god and know everything was going to be ok. I know part of me does but my stomach appears unconvinced.

I've been feeling very guilty that when I start to let my mind wander into worst case scenario land and I find myself thinking about what would happen if, God forbid, anything happened to Brian. I think one of the things that scares me the most is ever finding anyone else on this planet that I could love as much as I love Brian. I just can't imagine that there is another person out there that gets me like he does. Another person that I know as well as I know myself. It's like the world is a big inside joke but we're the only two that get the punch line. What in the world would I do without him? Who would I tell all my silly thoughts to? I just can't stand the thought of life without him.

Ok enough depressing shit. Brian is going to be fine damn it. *whew* ok so in other news I've been playing this video game called Spore. It's pretty neat if it would just stop fucking crashing. I've had to start the same space level over 3 times now and it's a pretty big in fact ginormous section on the game so yeah, not cool when it crashes. It is really fun when it's working though. I love tooling around in my space ship meeting alien life forms and abducting them. yeah that's right abduct. lol. You beam them right up into your little spaceship. It's really fucking cute.

alright well I think I'm going to have me a glass of wine and watch some T.V. More to come :)
